The Hearts We Leave Behind

If it’s true that men give little thought to Valentines day then my compadres, middle-aged and solitary street folk, shouldn’t acknowledge the day at all.  Just another gloomy Monday in an endless winter.

But I know I am not the only bereft father of daughters who would give an arm and a leg to be with their girls today.  Two of the most common phrases you hear down here are “I used to be” and “I used to have”.  But we can’t dwell … we can only hope.

  1. Good Morning Drakakis
Every loving relationship is a jewel in the hearts crown, to be carried and charished by the soul forever. I am sure your girls hold the jewel of your love in their heart everyday (as you do their’s). Valentine’s Day is not only a day to celebrate the presence of love but more the presents of love given and recieved in the past.
